Art of the Table: Tea Towels

09Jan09

Cloth napkins are a great way to add a pop of color and fun to your table as well as helping avoid the waste of paper napkins and towels (I’ll tackle those in my next post).  I’ve also recently discovered the magic of tea towels. Traditionally made from flour sacks, these oversized multi-purpose kitchen towels have become an essential to my kitchen. They are absorbent and large, great for clean up or even serving.

I’ve recently found some amazing hand screenprinted tea towels on Etsy.com. (side note: Etsy.com is in the midst of some fantastic tech updates. They have recently updated their search feature making it much easier to find what you are looking for and easily sort through the results.) The beauty of Etsy is the amazing variety. No matter what your style, you are sure to find a beautiful, handcrafted item perfect for you.
