Books of the day!

18Oct10

How do I kill time? Browsing at the bookstore or searching around online. Take your favorite topic and dig a little. Different vendors offer different things. Really want to switch it up? Check out what our neighbours to the North are offering by visiting some Canadian online booksellers such as Chapters/Indigo… sometimes you can find interesting books not easily available in the US.

Some of my favorites today:

Victoria Hagan: Interior Portraits

Rizzoli makes some of the world’s most beautiful books. They are hands-down one of the top in their field for creating dynamic, visually inspiring books. Yum.

At Home: A Style for Today with things from the Past

Does this image look familliar? The interior of this New York apartment is featured on the cover of this month’s Elle Decor (Nov 2010). The fabrics are killer, the colors are elegant and tiny dashes of contemporary style are added into the mix. Check it out.

Mid-Century Modern: Interiors, Furniture, Design Details

Zaha Hadid: Minimum Series

Chanel recently  has Hadid’s mobile exhibition pavillion to the Arab World Institute in Paris, once installed, it will be used to showcase contemporary arts by Arab artists. Check out some of Hadid’s influences and greatest works in this striking book.

And of course, one of my favorites: Taschen’s Paris: Hotels, Restaurants & Shops. It’s both a great resource and chock full of beautiful photos.

All available on amazon.com!
