House Industries: Beyond the Eames Blocks. A cool company with great holiday gifts.

08Dec10

I went to the House Industries site to check out their Eames Blocks and discovered not just the set but a whole treasure trove of cool products, amazing fonts and great collaborations. If you have 10 minutes, visit their site!

The block set, called the Eames House and Studio 36 Alphabet Blocks, is an ingenious collaboration between House Industries and the Eames Foundation. This isn’t just your typical set of letters, numerals and shapes, it’s also a model of the Eames House and Studio – case model number 8. Perfect for the hard to buy for, visual and creative person in your life.

House Industries created this set as part of their Eames Century Modern collection – a 10 year project in which House worked closely with the Eames family, archives and obscure documents to create a family of fonts that would accurately reflect the styles and work of Charles and Ray Eames.

They also have some other great gifts – from tea towels to cast iron ampersands!

Flour sac tea towels

Cast aluminum ampersand
(Also available in weathered cast iron)

Eames Stencil 5 Print

Alexander Girard Nativity Scene
